Halloween Costume Ideas

October 12, 2012 by Heidi Rew - 7 Comments

Hey there party people!

Halloween is right around the corner and that means…costume decision time is near. ;p Does that stress you out? Or have you been thinking about what you’re going to wear for months? Either way, no one wants to spend a ton o’ cash on a costume that you wear once.

I’ve got a costume idea for you that is free, easy to make and interactive. How does THAT sound? :-)

Be a QR code. Okay…hang on with me for a minute. You see the QR codes everywhere on everything these days so create your own QR code.

First, go to Qurify.com to create your OWN QR code.

Type in your message to the box on the top left of the screen.

After you add your message, just click on the Qurify button and your code will appear.

You can then download your code to your computer, print it out and your Halloween costume is just about done. :-)

Now…to figure out how others can decifer your code. All you/they have to do is download a free QR code reader app to your smart phone. Here’s a link to several free apps for the android. Here’s a link to the one for the iPhone.

After that, you’re ready to hit the streets trick (or trunk) or treating with your techie costume.

The great thing about this costume is that it covers all ages. You could do one for a baby that says something like, “I’m your boo, but watch out for my poo.” (Mike came up with that one)

If you’re not fond of that costume idea, check out my costume from last year.

A human pinterest board! :p It was free as well. I already had the bulletin board from my college days and I printed out actual “pins” from my boards.

Do you have any free/cheap Halloween costume ideas? I’d love to hear them!

Hope you have a great weekend! Check back next week for a special fashion-oriented post.
