Have you ever had to throw a baby shower at work?
There are definitely some challenges. It’s nice that people are already at work so they can hopefully take a quick break to celebrate but it can also be tough for the people putting it together.
Thankfully, for this work shower, there are some incredibly creative & awesome girls that joined forces. Taylor Austin organized it & Morgan Braswell, Whitney Teal & myself contributed.
If you’re planning a baby shower at work…here are a few things I’d suggest –
* Delegate – this couldn’t have come together without all the girls I mentioned
* Keep the menu simple – Again…your kitchen area is probably limited & you don’t want to end up spending the whole work day prepping & cleaning.
* Go in with a group gift – A lot of times it’s easier for people just to give cash than shop for a present. Since this was their 2nd baby, we all went in & got a huge basket stuffed with diapers, wipes, hangers, socks, etc (Morgan, who already has two adorable little boys, shopped for this since she has baby experience ;p)
* If you’re stuck on decor/theme, ask how the mom to be how she’s planning to decorate the baby’s room – The room of the little bundle of joy is going to be a rock star theme with hot pink & black colors. Bingo!
Since we were keepin it simple, we wanted to do a fun theme for the desserts. We went with “Pregnancy Cravings.”
Taylor did Ice Cream Cone cupcakes & I did pickles! I’ll show you how I came up with a pickle dessert.
These are Taylor’s adorable cupcakes! They turned out great & tasted divine. She found a great way to bake them. You fill a cupcake pan 2/3 full of cake mix, then place the ice cream cones on top & bake accordingly.
P.S. I forgot my camera so I had to go with a co-workers. Which is why there aren’t more pictures. Several pics didn’t turn out very well. ๐
These were my pickles! :p
I got a pickle, I got a pickle, I got a pickle…hey, hey, hey, hey! (from Little Rascals people…no dirty joke here ;p)
I wanted to use Nutter Butters but Publix was out of them every time I went. Instead, I went with Vienna Finger cookies.
* Melt Green chocolate melts per instructions (I got mine at Michaels)
* Dip a Vienna Finger in the chocolate until it’s well coated.
* Tap off excess chocolate & lay to dry on wax paper
Simple Pimple
(oh come on, like “Easy Peasy” is better?? ;p Okay maybe be less gross)
This was my other contribution – Princess Punch.
Princess Punch
Rasberry Sherbert
Sprite
Top with edible glitter*
* I got the edible glitter from FancyFlours. It was hot pink but I think I’d try the silver glitter next time.
I don’t really have a punch bowl so I used an apothecary jar. I have a little apothecary jar addiction. ;p I always have to tell myself…”Just walk away” “Look away, look away” (Bridesmaids quote)
Here’s the couple of honor! That’s their daughter Lacey. Isn’t she adorbs?
Morgan did the musical banner in the back with her Cricut.
Which reminds me…
I got to use my CRICUT!!! ;p I used it to make the labels for all the food. It was so fun!
I have a home project that I’m going to share with you next Monday on the Weekend Wrap Up Party & of course more fun party ideas/projects!
Hope you have a great week! Have you ever thrown a baby shower at work? Did it turn out well? What are some of the tips you’d give?

How did you make the pickle jar?

Hey Cara! I know I responded to your question on FB, but I want to answer it in case anyone else has the same question. All I did was take the nutter butter cookies (the kind that look like a peanut & have the peanut butter cream in the middle) and dipped them into green chocolate melts. That’s it! So simple. Just added them to an apothecary jar & done. ๐ <3 Heidi Rew
