This is a two for one gift. It’s super easy. It’s inexpensive & can be thrown together last minute.
This has been done by others so I’m not claiming it as an innovative hostess gift idea. I just wanted to show you what I did when I had a short time to throw a hostess gift together.
I stopped at Target, got a nice looking dish towel for a few bucks, grabbed a fun bottle of wine (if the hostess doesn’t drink, see below for other ideas) & was on my way spending only about $10.
Did I match the bottle of wine I picked to the dish towel? I sure did! :p (I hope the wine was good…I’m not a wine connoisseur so I grabbed this one b/c I heard another lady in the aisle tell a friend it was a good one!)
I had a ribbon left over from an old rug or something we bought & a tag leftover from our backyard wedding reception, here & here.
I wrapped the dishtowel around the wine, tied er’ up & attached the tag. Wham-bam-thank-you-m’am!
If you or your hostess doesn’t prefer wine, you could also give them a pretty bottle of lemonade. Trader Joes has pink & regular lemonade in pretty, retro bottles. Wrap a bright-colored dish towel around it…maybe even add a citrus juicer & you’re good to go.
This gift is also a great stock-up gift. Buy a pack of several dish towels & some bottles of wine & it’s ready to go at a moments notice. Candles are another hostess gift I stock up on. During end of the year sales, I’ll buy several to have on hand throughout the year for hostess gifts.
Hope this inspired you…or just reminded you of an easy, last minute hostess/host gift.
Have a great weekend! We’re having a garage sale this weekend so praying for good weather & lots of change being exchanged! ;p

I am trying for the life of me to get this to work. Can you give a step by step? I also purchased my dishcloth from Target and wine 😉 The dishtowel is normal Threshold brand. Please email me if at all possible. Thank you and GREAT idea!

I’m so sorry LWM! I guess I need to add this to my video tutorial list. 🙂 Here are the step by step instructions, in case anyone else needs them too.
1 | Spread out your towel on a flat surface.
2 | Place your wine bottle in the very center of the towel.
3 | Start off by taking two ends directly across from each other and pulling them up to the top of the wine bottle. Hold that in place, then do the same thing with the other corners directly across from each other.
4 | Once you have all four corners gathered around the top of the wine bottle, secure with ribbon around the bottleneck.
Let me know if you’re still having problems! <3 Heidi
