Hey party people!
This is the final wedding centerpiece. Are you excited?? Enough of seeing purple & green?! ;p
There are actually two centerpieces in this post. I’ll do the budget breakdown on each one and later today, I’ll do a separate post with all the centerpieces together. That way you can see the different choices at once.
This is a really simple centerpiece. I used a lantern I already had & filled it with moss, a couple limes, purple hydrangeas and a flameless candle.
I had just picked up a couple of succulents at the store so I decided to try out something.
I definitely think this has more of a modern feel. But I thought I’d share it anyway. I actually just wanted to be in the succulent cool club since they’re so in right now. ;p
Here’s how these lined up budget-wise…
The lantern & candle really made that budget go up. I may be able to find flameless candles for cheaper but I wanted to estimate on the high end in case I couldn’t.
Okay…one more. The idea for this one was originally going to use a lamp base. I’ve seen some lamp bases for $3-$4 at thrift stores. I thought I could use that as a base & add a pretty purple flower ball on top. The issue? I couldn’t find a lamp base that I liked for this for under $9 and I realized I’d have to take out the cord. Some lamp bases would be easy to do this but the lamp bases that I kept coming across were going to be more difficult than translating Honey Boo Boo!
After looking at the pictures of this centerpiece, I definitely should’ve spray painted this candlestick an oil-rubbed bronze. That goldish color is just not working.
Attaching the hydrangea petals to the styrofoam was a really time-intensive process. Does anyone have any idea of an easier way to attach them? I started to put them on with the glue gun, but I’ve learned some things from Craft Wars & that is a Tori Spelling no, no. Instead, I just plugged the wire stems into the styrofoam. I can see that not being a good long-term plan.
I added some of the lime candles just for kicks. I think I may just want to kick those to the curb. Not my favorite. ;p
Wanna know if this beat the price of the lantern centerpiece? Check this out…
The $$ definitely improved but overall which centerpiece do you think Meg should choose? Check back this afternoon for a recap of all the centerpieces & the $$$. ;p

I like the first one of this set the best. If it is an evening wedding, this would be beautiful so you can “light” the candles to set off the romantic glow. The one with the succulents is definitely modern and looks great, but doesn’t really fit in to the rustic elegance theme. The last one is kinda neat, but not a favorite for the occasion. Out of all the arrangements you’ve shown, my favorite by far is #4. ๐ Can’t wait to see which one(s) your sister chooses!
Wishing your sister a beautiful wedding, a God-filled marriage, and a lifetime of happiness!
