Hey party people!
A week from now it will be Thanksgiving! Can you believe it?
I figured I’d reach into the Thanksgiving vault if you need some last minute Thanksgiving decoration ideas.
This was from last year. All you need is twine, acorns and a gold paint pen. I used the paint pen to color part of the acorn, wrapped the twine around the napkin and secured the acorns on top with a little glue gun action.
I don’t have a lot of space to keep multiple sets of dishes but I wanted to add something to our usual white plates. I used disposable clear plates left over from a party (surprise, surprise). I turned the plate over, traced around the edge with my gold paint pen & I also wrote “Thanks” on the bottom of the plate so it showed through the top.
This was my centerpiece. It was just a white cake plate topped with several candles and more gold acorns. Around the centerpiece, I spready out leaves that I outlined in gold along with white painted pumpkins. On the pumpkins, I wrote some of the things I’m thankful for. Really simple and inexpensive.
Here’s my fall tablescape from this year. If you want to read more about it & how to create a faux bois candle log out of pvc pipe, click here.
I also adore this “Thanks Y’all” banner at the Clay Pot. It’s just brown paper bags hung on twine with clothespins. This could double as decoration and an activity. Have everyone write down what they’re thankful for during 2012 and put them in the bags (maybe even things you’re thankful for that start with each letter). Save them until next year and read what everyone wrote.
