Hey party peeps! I’m getting so excited! My sister’s bridal shower is in a week and a half and I cannot wait to show you all the fun things in store! One project even involves bubble wrap. 🙂 A couple weeks ago, I sent out the invites. I decided I’d try the DIY Bridal Shower Invitations route this time. One of my best friends, Jenny, has an invitation business called Vivian Elle Invitations. She has some mad skillz and I have used her for most of my parties (see them here, here and here). However, since I have this lil’ ole blog, I thought I’d give the DIY invite a shot.
I envisioned the invitation resembling a champagne label, since that’s the theme of the shower.
I went online and found a champagne label I liked. Using Picmonkey (free but now has limited applications unless you pay for a premium subscription), I “erased” most of the wording and added the invitation information.
Here are the materials I used:Â
– White Cardstock (already had)
– Blank Silver Card & Envelope Pack (from Michaels & used a 40% off coupon)
– Purple Cardstock (also from Michaels & I got it when their cardstock packs were 50% off)
– Labels (from Michaels)
– Purple Pen (already had)
All in all, the invites cost me less than $1/each (not including the postage). That’s not a bad price, but if you don’t have the time and you’re looking for quality invitations, check out  Vivian Elle Invitations!
Here are some tips, if you’re planning to DIY your invitations:
Your invitations are really important. Invitations set the tone for the whole party. Use your creativity to start the part off right by customizing your invites.
Side note: In this digital age, invitation ettiquette seems more and more blurry. An invitation ettiquette post is in the works.
I’d really love to know what YOU do for invitations: birthday, weddings, showers. Do you prefer snail mail? Email? Online invitations?
Hope you have a “toast-worthy” week! I’ll be back with more shower projects soon. Until then…
Party On!

Absolutely love!! I prefer cards and invites in the mail, the old fashioned way unless an email is just for a small gathering;)
Heidi Rew says
Thanks Kim! I love getting real mail too! It’s so fun to see it peeking out from the bills. ;p <3 Heidi Rew

There are those that are professional (YOU) and those that try really hard (me). :p They can’t even compare to your awesome invites, Jenny…but yes…if you need an assistant, you know who to call! :p <3 ya

Could you email me the blank invitation so that maybe the words that weren’t added won’t be so blurry! I love this and want to use it! THANKS!

It’s on the way, Sherry! Hope it helps!! <3 Heidi

Hi Heidi!
I love love this invitation. My shower is coming up as well. Is there any chance you can send me the blank as well? I would love to use it but when I add my lettering it is blurry!
Thanks!
Michaela
