Hey party people!
If you follow Parties for Pennies on Facebook or on Instagram, you may have seen this picture…
Now, you’ll find out what that was all about.
You can always use inexpensive gift and party favor ideas. Here’s one that you can use to give to someone else or just for you.
These are healthy dark chocolate truffles in a homemade gift box. And they are yummy. They’ll end up costing between $1-$2/each (depending on how many you’re making and what ingredients you already have on hand). That’s a much better price than the $10-$25 price point! Godiva…what??
This is what you need to make your Healthy Dark Chocolate Truffle favors.
The recipe for Healthy Dark Chocolate Truffles is from Wellness Mama. Click on the link to see how to make them. I used chopped walnut pieces and coconut for my truffles. My husband even liked them…and he normally doesn’t like anything that’s healthy.
For the homemade treat box, I found an origami method and substituted heavy cardstock/scrapbook paper.
For my box, I measured a square that was 14cm long on each side and a square that was 15cm on each side. The larger square will be the top of the box and the smaller will be the bottom. This fit 4 truffles. I also did some other boxes to give away to the guys from Serv International (an awesome organization that 100% of their funds go to feed the hungry in 3rd world countries). Those fit 2 truffles each. One square was 12cm each side and one square was 13cm each side.
You could make these as favors for your next party/shower, as teacher gifts, neighbor gifts…really any kind of gifts…or you could make yourself some healthy chocolate truffles and eat them all. I’m not gonna judge!
For quality & taste assurance, the guys from Serv International all said they were delish (well…they didn’t use that specific word because they’re guys but you know what I mean). Check out more about the amazing work Serv does and how they’ve created food packages that feed people for cents on the dollar. So basically, $5 goes a LONG way! They also have a store in Canton, GA that sells overstock items for soooo cheap! It is GOOD stuff too. Last time I was up there, they had a whole bunch of Martha Stewart cooking & servingware, amazing furniture and I heard they just got a stock of heavy duty juicers in!
Hope you have an awesome weekend! I’ve got an entertaining post for you this weekend & a helpful party tip for Monday!
Until then…Party On!
