Hey party people!
Mandy, one of our P4P readers, recently asked me for ideas for an Atlanta Braves Baseball-themed baby shower she was planning.
I love that theme idea for a baby shower! I’ve put together some baseball themed party ideas that would work for a shower or birthday party (as well as a printable invitation).
First of all, here’s the source list for the ideas I included in this collage:
“Luke Field” Sign, Sunflower Seeds & Coke bottle pinwheel – Kristen Weaver Blog
Hot Dogs & Big League Chew Favor – Pinterest (no original source found)
Before I jump into some of the ideas I had, let me share this invitation that I created for a baseball-themed baby shower. I kept it generic, as far as the team goes (1) for trademark reasons & (2) so a lot of people could use it.
This is just a mock example of what one would look like with the information filled out.
The invitation I created has blank spots for the specific information. Click on the link below & download the file. Open it in Publisher & then just add text boxes where you need to add specific info.
The top portion, where it’s labeled “Name, M/F, & ETA” is the place where you’d fill in the baby’s name, sex, and estimated time of arrival (you could just do a month & year). The rest of the invitation is pretty self-explanatory.

Here’s what ideas I had for the different aspects of the shower/party:
FOOD:
Hot Dogs (or “fancy” it up & serve Pigs in a Blanket)
Chips, Peanuts, Sunflower Seeds
Salad topped with sunflower seeds (maybe add strawberries and/or oranges with red onion slices and feta cheese)
Drinks – Bottles of Coke (you can buy a whole case of glass bottles at Costco)
DESSERT:
Cake – go with a cookie cake or regular cake & have the message read “Congratulations on your little All-Star!” or “Congratulations on your little peanut!”
Serve a side of ice cream topped with cracker jacks (You could even scoop up individual sizes ahead of time by putting a scoop of ice cream in a cupcake wrapper in a cupcake tin. Cover & freeze until you’re ready to serve them & simple sprinkle a few kernels of cracker jacks on top.)
* I had this delicious caramel corn ice cream at a restaurant here in Atlanta & it was amazing so I think the cracker jack toppings would be wonderful!
FAVORS:
Tin or basket filled with a pack of Big League gum, a coke bottle, and a package of peanuts (create a fun packaging with the peanuts by making a cone out of newspaper & putting the IN-SHELLED peanuts inside).
or
If it’s all women that attend, order a pack of these arrowhead pendants (this is specifically for a Braves themed shower…since they have the tomahawk) & add a chain from the craft store…or leave as is.
Include a tag that says: “Thanks for comin out to the ballgame!”
DECOR:
Red & white checkered tablecloths (maybe with a burlap overlay)
Coke Bottles (use empty coke bottles as vases for flower centerpieces or as sign holders)
Gather all your leather gloves, baseballs, bats, balls, and hats & stage them to create a baseball-feel.
ACTIVITIES:
Get a baseball & have every guest sign it to give to the little slugger after he/she’s born.
Find pictures of famous Braves players when they were kids/babies & divide the guests up in teams. Have the teams try & guess which famous player the baby picture (or kid picture) is of.
Mandy, hope this helped spark some partyspiration! Just to help out a little more…I have linked some party products below. I buy a lot of my party supplies from Amazon because of the convenience & cost-effectiveness.
Stop back in this Friday for my “formula” for creating a flower arrangement. Until then…
Party On!
