Hey party people!
I love all things party…including gifts! I looove giving gifts.
With a limited budget and a lot of opportunities to give gifts, I like to have some quick & easy DIY gifts ready to go.
Here’s one gift I love giving to my foodie friends!
Maybe you have a friend like my friend Kauri.
She’s the one you can ALWAYS call if you need a recipe. Who is the first person to volunteer to bring a meal? Kauri. Whose home serves up the best dishes? Kauri’s. When there’s a celebration of any sorts, guess who will be bringing a special dish to contribute? Kauri.
When she told me she wanted to spend her birthday weekend in Atlanta (where I live), I knew I wanted to shower her with gifts. So, to keep the gift giving in line with my budget, I made these little tags for Kauri.
Here’s what you need:
* Scrapbook paper (the cardstock kind)
* White Cardstock
* Ribbon
* Plain White Gift Box (or you can find out how to make your own here)
* Glue Stick
* Hole Punch
* Cricut Machine – If you don’t have one, it’s okay. Download this template – DIY Gift Idea – Foodie Tags Template
–If you DON’T have a Cricut machine or other cutting machine, download this file to your computer & add text in the smaller frames. Then cut them out. The larger frame that says, “template” is a guide to cut your scrapbook paper.
–If you DO have a Cricut, here are the measurements I used –
2 1/2″ for the larger shape (using scrapbook paper)
2″ for the smaller shape (with the text)
I printed out the text on white cardstock on my computer, then used my Cricut to cut out the shapes.
Once you have your shapes cut, use a glue stick to adhere the text shape to the scrapbook paper shape. Using a hole punch, punch the top left corner of your tag.
String a piece of ribbon through it, and you’ve got a personalized tag.
Now when your friend makes those fabulous chocolate chip cookies she’s famous for, she can add a pretty personalized tag!
For my friend, Kauri, I gave her several tags that were blank too. I thought it’d be nice for her to have a few she can write her own message on.
She really liked her little foodie tags…as well as her other gifts. I did 7 different presents that symbolized something I loved about her.
My favorite kind of gifts are the ones that are meaningful & useful.
Are you a foodie like my friend, Kauri? Are you someone who loves to give gifts like me?
Hope this helps inspire you to create a gift that’s budget-friendly & useful!
Whether your friend is a foodie, a crafter, a parent, a gift-giver or all of the above, he/she will love these cute little tags made especially for them.

I am curious what the other presents were. I always love ideas for gift-giving.

Hey Heather! Gosh…I’ll try and remember. I know gave her a framed art print that had a verse on it. One gift was an audio series of the Tina Fey book and that’s all I can remember. I may have wrapped up some chocolate too. I love that you love giving gifts, too. <3 Heidi
