Hey party people!
For the past year, I have been digging marble. Not only in home decor but also in party planning.
This past Spring, I even set up my own marble slab ice cream station for a baby shower. It only cost me a few dollars for marble tiles from my local hardware store to create a unique party element.
After the party was complete, I began eyeing some of the marble serving trays. The problem? Most of them were between $45-$60.
Instead of shelling out all those pennies, I decided to try & create my own.
It turned out great, easy to do, and inexpensive.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Marble Tile
Self Adhesive Felt Pads
Handles of your Choice (found in your local hardware store)
E6000 (found at your local craft store)
Step 1: Attach the felt pads to each corner.
Step 2: Measure equal distance from the edges to determine where to attach the handles.
Step 3: Use your E6000 to attach the handle to your marble. Press down & hold in place for a minute & then allow to dry overnight.
Once you’ve let the handles set, your tray will be ready to serve your guests.
The total cost of my marble serving tray was about $15 (the hardware was the largest expense). Definitely beats the $45-$60 price tag.
Not only could you use this for displaying a cheese plate, you could serve drinks on it, use it as a home decor piece, create a centerpiece on it with vases, or even display a beautiful cake.
Until next time…
