Hey party people!
Labor Day is a week away so now’s the time to start warming up that grill and figuring out the menu. I can’t help you with the grill but I can help you figure out your menu with the BEST BURGER recipe ever!
My husband, Mike, is extremely talented. He acts, is a voiceover artist, a radio dj, can take anyone in fencing, an incredible writer, motorcycle rider…but one of his talents that melts my heart is his grilling skills.
He’s got serious mad skillz.
Like…I will bet anyone that they have never tasted a good steak until they’ve had one that Mike has grilled.
This bet also stands for his burgers.
Best. I’ve. Ever. Had. (If Vertical Horizon had tasted Mike’s burgers, there is no doubt that’s what that song would’ve been about)
I wanted to just invite you all over to the house so you can try them but the logistics of that just didn’t pan out. So…the next best thing is Mike sharing his little recipe with you to ensure so you can try it.
Mike’s Best Burger Recipe
1 lb (or one package) of ground beef
Sea Salt
Adobo Seasoning
Onion
Pepper
Plain Oatmeal (we use gluten-free oatmeal)
Can of Black Beans (drained)
Take the meat and add a pinch of salt and about 1/8 tsp of adoba seasoning (if you like it really salty…add just a little more of both of these). Then add just a pinch of pepper.
Take 1/4 of a small onion, 1/4 cup of oatmeal, and 1/3 can of black beans and blend them together in a magic bullet/blender/food processor. Mix for about 15 seconds.
Add to the meat and mix well.
Grill according to your preference & enjoy!
The oatmeal and black beans really give the burgers a moist taste.
