Hey party people!
This is part two of our Labor Day White Party! Yesterday, I showed you budget-friendly party ideas to throw your own Labor Day party and today, I have some special guests that are going to help you figure out what to wear.
Let’s toss some confetti, release some balloons & add a little noisemaker in for good measure to welcome Kate & Elyse of Dress Your Guests!
Say you get an invitation to a party, what is one of the first things you think about? What should I wear? What will everyone else wear? Will I be overdressed? Under-dressed? That’s exactly why Kate & Elyse started Dress Your Guests! It answers the question, “What should I wear? (for basically any event)”
So, here they are sharing AWESOME outfit inspiration, makeup tips & hair tricks!
We’ve joined forces with the incredible Heidi Rew to help you plan the perfect Labor Day Weekend Soiree, and the theme is: “White Party, The Finale”. While, we are big believers that wearing white past Labor Day is NOT a fashion faux pas, we still thought it would be chic to have the last party of summer be inspired by white attire. Parties for Pennies and Dress Your Guests have teamed up to outfit both you and your final fete of the summer season!
The Little White Dress for Every Budget
We wanted to make sure we had everyone and every budget covered for their last opportunity to wear head to toe white for this upcoming holiday weekend.

Outfits to help you transition from Beach to BBQ on Labor Day Weekend!
Tunics are perfect because they can be worn as a coverup or dressed up to wear to a chic event. We paired our picks with shorts and fab accessories to help you look glam for your holiday parties.
Maxi Dresses are the perfect summer staple. Before they get tucked away with the box labeled summer storage we wanted to give them one last go on Labor Day weekend.
If you are attending a more upscale Labor Day soiree these looks will transition well from day to evening.
Make-Up Tips
Now that you have chosen your ensemble we wanted to share some make-up tips with you to help compliment your all white attire.
STEP ONE: Start with clean fresh primed skin. Add foundation or a tinted moisturizer to even out your skin tone.
STEP TWO: Contour your face with a bronzer to warm up your skin and accentuate your features.
STEP THREE: Apply blush on the high apples of your cheeks and blend out. Give your lashes two coats of mascara to make your eyes pop.
STEP FOUR: Finish with a fun pop of color on your lips to brighten your whole look. Viola!
Don’t forget to accessorize your final look with a great accessory whether it be a necklace or fun earrings like the neon ones I am wearing.
Hair Tips
Now that you have perfected your make-up add the finishing touch to your overall ensemble with a creative hairstyle. Labor Day parties typically call for outdoor festivities so we suggest embracing the natural texture of your hair or try a fun updo to stay well coiffed throughout the day.
Boho Braid
One of our favorite looks for summer that can easily transition into fall. Start with a center or side part and create french braid pigtails. Use bobby pins to knot ends of braids into a bun. Don’t worry about it being too perfect. You can dress up this style with fun earrings or an embellished hair comb like I did below.
Natural Waves
If you are not a fan of putting all of your hair up, embrace the natural texture of your hair and wear it down. Start by air drying damp hair and define any curls or waves with a curling iron. Use a volumizing spray to create texture if you have naturally straight hair. Don’t worry about curls being too perfect, but make sure you set the style with hairspray to make it last. Accessorize with a bold lip and chic shades.
We hope you have a very chic Labor Day Party!
Thanks again, ladies!
