Hey party people!
Parties for Pennies EPIC DIY Halloween Costume week continues with a couple adult costumes & a dog costume. To see the DIY Halloween Costumes from Monday & Tuesday, click here & here.
1 | Google Glass – This is my hottie hubby modeling this costume. Let me tell what an awesome husband he has been over the years (although actually most was while we were dating…ya know…they’ll do just about anything then ;p)…Every Halloween, I’ve gotten so excited about dressing up. I’m not a complete crazy person about matching costumes but there have definitely been some “couple” costumes I’ve asked him to participate in. His complaint about the said costume choices? Too little clothing! Can you blame me?? ;p But…I am a sympathetic wife and so I wanted to come up with a costume that included a good deal of “covering up”, no tights, and an easy-last-minute-idea. Even better…you can actually utilize this Halloween costume…
Just grab a glass from your cabinet, print off a google logo, tape it to the cup & you’ve got a FREE “done-in-five-minutes” Halloween costume…that can also be used to hold your beverage of choice.
2 | Hashtag Costume – I couldn’t get anyone else to model this one, so I’m sorry you have to look at my mug. ;p Don’t worry…a cute one is coming up after this.
This hashtag costume is another great last-minute costume idea that won’t cost you hardly anything. I created this tag from leftover ribbon & a dry erase foamboard. Use a dry erase marker to create your own hashtag…like #reesesaremyfavorite #justsayin #mycostumeisbetterthanyours ;p #speakinjustintimberlakeandjimmyfallonslanguage #arentmykidscute? If you’re at a party…let others create their own hashtag & then take a picture together. I guess you could say this costume is interactive. ;p
You can find the dry erase foamboard at your local craft store or (probably) office supply store.
3 | Heisenberg…er…HeisenDOG – My husband & I got hooked on Breaking Bad so we thought our “better half” would be fully supportive on joining in the fandom.
I even added some “blue meth” for authenticity. ;p How did I make it? I just bought some blue suckers & broke them up inside a plastic bag.
I do have to say that I didn’t truly “DIY” this one. Mainly because I ended up running out of time. I got a short hat, sunglasses & a mustache (it came with a gotee too but it just looked better with only the mustache) from a local party store.
Guinness (that’s our dog) was such a good sport. It took him awhile to get used to the mustache but after awhile, he just sat there & let me snap away. Don’t worry…he was richly rewarded.
More Halloween costume ideas tomorrow & Friday!!
Until then…Party On!
p.s. This is YOUR official invite to the party… join in on the Parties for Pennies Facebook page, Twitter, and Pinterest!
