Hey party people!
Party backdrops can be such a great addition to events. They can be an anchor to your dessert table, perfect for photos, and add to your decor. And the great news is, they don’t have to be expensive or super complicated.
For my Geometric Diamond Bridal Shower, I wanted to create a backdrop that emulated the DIY invitations.
Here’s what you’ll need to create your own Geometric Diamond Party Backdrop…
First, make sure you wash and iron your material. Lay it over the foamboard so there’s at least an inch hanging over the edge. Start at one end, spray the adhesive on the foamboard in sections and smooth out the material.
You can make your diamond any size you prefer. These are the dimensions I used for mine…
Once you have your diamond outlined, use your push pin to create holes at each of the points. You will probably have to do two holes at each point, because you’ll have to thread it through once, then come back through at the same point. If this sounds complicated, check out the video tutorial I did for the Geometric Diamond Invitation. The process is similar.
Do you remember those cardboard sewing kits for kids? This reminds me of those. Begin at the bottom of the diamond, thread the needle with yarn through to another point on the diamond. Continue until you have created the diamond outline.
Add this behind your dessert table or on an easel as a welcome sign.
You’ll see how I used it in my Geometric Diamond Bridal Shower next week!
