Hey party people!
I must admit that I wasn’t so much a balloon person a couple years ago. Not sure why. They just weren’t something I wanted to use for parties. BUT…something has changed over the past year and I’m obsessing over them. There’s so many creative ways to use balloons.
I was thrilled when the crew at Creative Balloons Mfg. Inc sent me their E-Z Balloon kit. One of the reasons I haven’t been a fan of the balloons is the price. You can easily drop over $25 for one party just on helium balloons, and that would just be for the bare minimum. For a little more than you’d spend for one party, you can have your own helium tank and balloons for many parties.
Color-coordinated balloons are always fun, but if you’re planning a party with a Strawberry Shortcake theme or a Strawberry-Picking theme…this DIY is for you!
Here’s my DIY Strawberry Balloon…
How do you make one of your own? Well…here’s a little video tutorial to help you out.
*Side Note: For more detailed instructions of how to blow up your balloon with the E-Z Balloon Kit (it really is EASY), click here.
Supplies:
Red Balloon (it comes in the E-Z Balloon Kit)
Green Streamers
Circle Hold Punch (1/2 inch) or White Circle Stickers
White Label Paper (unless you are using the white circle stickers)
Scissors
Stapler
Double-Sided Tape
Instructions:
1| Using the circle hole punch, cut out several circles from your white label paper. I did it this way because that’s what I had on hand, but you can check an office supply store for already cut white circle labels.
2| Take the green streamer and fold over into 8 inch long pieces. Do this at least 4 times.
3| Cut each end so that they’re a slightly rounded “v.”
4| Fan these out so they resemble a green flower.
5| Take your green streamers again and fold over 4 inch long pieces.
6| Twist this together.
7| Lay the twisted streamer on top of the flower streamer and staple in the center.
8| Blow up your balloon.
9| Add the “stem” you just created, from the streamers, to the top of the balloon with double-sided tape.
10| Place the white circle stickers all around the balloon.
That’s it!
Looking forward to seeing some blog friends at the Haven conference this weekend! Whatever your plans, don’t forget to…Party On!
