Hey party people!
I just got back from Nashville after an appearance on Talk of the Town and guess what I came home to? A bushel of apples on my front porch!
My parents stopped by Mercier’s Orchard on their way through Blue Ridge and brought me some hand-picked apples. From the looks of social media, it seems like a lot of people went apple picking this fall. If you did and you’re looking for a recipe to make that’s different from the typical apple pie, this Apple Cake Recipe with Spiced Cider Sauce is it!
I so wish I could bottle up the smell that filled my house when I made this! I can’t, but you can certainly experience it for yourself.
This was a regular white cake recipe that I adapted into an apple cake recipe. The real show-stopper is the cider sauce that goes on top of it! It adds this amazing flavor and pairs perfectly with a scoop of ice cream.
[yumprint-recipe id=’1′] Whether you’re hosting a dinner party, having your book club over, or just wanting something sweet, you are going to love this recipe! Not only does it taste good, but it has magical powers to instantly make you excited about fall!
