Hey party people!
If you’re joining Parties for Pennies from Nashville’s Talk of the Town, welcome. Virtual confetti heading your way!
Today, on Nashville’s Talk of the Town, I shared a pumpkin planter project that could be used as a table centerpiece, an outdoor accent, or to accessorize an entry-way table.

I posted this last year, but instead of having to search for the post, here are the step by step instructions.
The materials are pretty minimal, as well. You’ll need a large white pumpkin, succulents of your choosing (I used 4 plants, 2 different kinds), and moss.
Step 1: Carve the pumpkin & make sure to cut a large opening at the top. You may have to whittle away at the inner wall of the pumpkin to create enough room.
Step 2: There are 2 options here: 1) Simply insert the succulents, in their original containers, into the pumpkin or 2) Use the pumpkin as the actual planting container. (The second option will cause it to rot faster, though. You need the pumpkin to be away from moisture and in cooler temps as much as possible.)
*You can also use a faux white pumpkin & it will last even longer. Mine lasted a week, in the house. If you want it to keep longer, put it outside when you’re not using it as a centerpiece. The cool weather will keep it longer.
Step 3: Fill in gaps around the plants with moss.

I don’t know about you, but I’m all about toasting a pumpkin spice latte to that! So, cheers for fall and white pumpkins!
Don’t forget to party on!
