Hey party people!
I’m not gonna lie…I love me a good ole classic cheese plate/tray for an appetizer. It’s easy to put together and always a crowd-pleaser. It can certainly add up $$-wise, though. I have a few cheats for that, but first, here’s a fun and festive way to display your cheese – The Christmas Tree Cheese Plate.
Easy & festive! Here’s what you’d need to create your own:
All you need to do is cut your cheese into circles using a biscuit cutter, then lay out your greens to resemble a Christmas tree. I used kale, but that has almost too much texture. Chard may be better.
Lay the crackers at the base of your “tree” and add jam or honey to the top for the star. Some cranberries or figs/grapes would be great additions too.
Here’s my tip to save money on this cheese plate – Don’t buy the cheese in the gourmet section of the store. Buy your cheese where all the shredded and regular cheese is. You can still do some colby jack/pepper jack/cheddar to create a great cheese plate without dishing out a ton of money. Especially if you put together THIS Christmas Tree cheese plate, guests will be quoting Iggy Azalea to you all night – You so fancy. 🙂
Hope you have a very Merry Christmas! Thank you so much for being a part of Parties for Pennies!
