Hey party people!
Have you seen the Moroccan glass trend? They are gorgeous – beautiful, colorful glasses with ornate gold design. You can buy these online or in stores, but they can get really pricey. I wanted my own set of Moroccan glasses without the high price, so I created these DIY MOROCCAN GLASSES. Now YOU can too! Check out what you’ll need and the how-to below.
Here are the SUPPLIES you’ll need: (Click on the supply to find a similar product)
- Glass or Plastic Cups (I used plastic ones and I found them at Home Goods)
- Fine Point Gold Paint Pen (If using GLASS – use an oil-based paint pen. If using PLASTIC – use a permanent water resistant, non-toxic paint pen. Craftsmart has both types. Sharpie is great for oil-based.)
- Moroccan Designs (download HERE)
- Tape
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1: Clean the glasses with soap and water to remove any dust or residue and dry completely.
Step 2: Print out the Moroccan Designs from the link above (under supplies) and cut out.
Step 3: Insert the designs into the cup (designs are based on a 4″ cup) and tape to hold in place.
Step 4: Use the gold paint pen to trace your design. (Heads up – the first design took me a little while to trace…the second one was much quicker)
Step 5: Plastic glasses – let fully dry for 24 hours. If your cups are glass – set your oven to 325 (no need to pre-heat), place your glasses on a cookie sheet and let bake for 40 minutes. Once they’re done baking, leave in the oven until the oven cools down. To preserve the design, hand wash.
I set these out on our bar cart and they look so good.
Use these for outdoor entertaining, a swanky dinner party, or a casual girls night. They would also be a great DIY gift idea (hostess, wedding, shower, etc). Even better, host a girls night in and everyone can make their own.
The tracing can take a little bit of time, but I promise it’s worth it! Put on that Netflix show you’ve needed to catch up on and you’ll get it done in no time.
Cheers to you! Now, party on!
