Hey party people!
I love hearing from you! Love. It.
Last week, I asked you on facebook & twitter what type of invitations are most preferred: Delivered (hand or snail mail), Evite/Online Invitation, or by Email.
I got exactly 100 responses! I adore infographs (why weren’t they around when I had to take biology…I think I would’ve been able to understand it better with an infograph) so I thought it’d be fun to do a mini one with your feedback.
Obviously, the delivered invitation won out!
I have to admit, there are two things (okay…maybe 3…since I work from home I’ve looked forward to getting checks in the mail ;p) I get excited about when I get the mail: (1) a Magazine & (2) an invitation/letter.
I totally just lied there…all these things are now flooding to my mind about what I love to get in the mail…coupons, newsletters, catalogs…
Point is – most everyone loves to get something personal or special in the mail.
An invitation not only sets the mood of the party but lets your guest know how much you’d love for them to be there.
If you need an invitation that’s fun, creative & can set the mood, check out one of my best friend’s invitation business.
She’s done my backyard wedding reception, my Mad Men party, and our 80s Halloween party.
I can also tell you that her invitations are really reasonably priced & she was just voted Best of the Knot 2013! Boo-yah!
Another invitation option is to download an invitation template from Do It Yourself Invitations.
And of course you can always try and create your own unique invitation.

I pinned a whole bunch of great invitation ideas & inspiration (to make yourself or order from VivianElle) on my Pinterest page.
Hope you’re having a great Monday!
I’ll be back on Wednesday to share my frugal Mother’s Day present! It’s a present you could do for a lot of different ocassions. Until then…party on!
p.s. This is YOUR official invite to the party… join in on the Parties for Pennies Facebook page, Twitter, and Pinterest!

I so understand! I love getting things, including paper invitations, in the mail. I was invited to a Thirty One party recently and the girl at church hand-delivered my invite. I was much more likely to want to attend! Also, I am attending an elder lady’s birthday party (she’ll be 86 years old and she reminds me of my grandma whom I lost in July) Saturday and she was so cute and wanted my invitation hand-delivered to me. So special to get things in the mail or be handed them. :p

Thanks for the plug, Rew! I’m not surprised at all by the results of the survey. Getting mail is the best. 🙂

It was interesting to read the post and the comments. I however tend to disagree. 100 is a very small focus group.
Einvites are the way of the future, especially if you are co-ordinating a big event and would like the RSVPs managed via a website or mailing service, it’s one less thing to worry about PLUS you get to Wow your guests with your tech savviness and a stunning personal site that has extra information for them, accommodations, map, gift registry and car hire or taxis.
You save trees too, as the printing is reduced to a minimum, just print for the people without email, and save so much money and time, especially since the mail service in South Africa (COZA) is touch and go.
you obviously must weigh up whats best for you and how you want to deal with the responses, perhaps you love receiving calls. each to their own, but all I am saying is that more and more people are turning to e-invitations of which you can have some stunning animated ones or totally unique static ones. All designs are possible.
