Pirate Party {Party Feature – Just Posh Parties}

Hey party people!

If you follow Parties for Pennies on instagram, you know that in January I attended the Bash conference. Bash is a conference just for party bloggers and event planners. It was so much fun and I met some awesome bloggers and event planners. I thought it’d be fun to feature one of the bloggers/planners each month here on Parties for Pennies. So, today I’m sharing this cute PIRATE PARTY by Natasha of Just Posh Parties

Isn’t it fun? In between sharing her party pics, I’ll share my favorite details and tips.

LOVE: That DIY sail that turned a regular table into an impressive ship!

TIP: Adding texture to a plain tablecloth can really make a party tablelike this inexpensive fish net.

LOVE: Chocolate doughnut holes as cannon balls!

TIP: Whenever I’m thinking of food to serve for a party, I write down as many things associated with the theme I can think of. Then, I start another list with food items that resemble them. For example…I’d write down a cannon (in addition to the cannon balls) and immediately swiss cake rolls come to mind. I’ll just brain storm for awhile and pull my favorites (and most affordable) from that list.

LOVE: The use of skulls for the decor.

TIP: Sometimes planning ahead is one of the greatest ways you can save money. Knowing you’re planning a Pirate themed party in the spring, allows you to pick up some skulls during the after-Halloween sales.

LOVE: The way Natasha used the gold candies under the cookies. And those cookies…love, love.

LOVE: Those Pirate hats! I bet the kids loved them.

LOVE: All these fun details – the treasure chest place card holder, the skull wrap around the goblet, the skull stamps on the bamboo cutlery… so fun!

TIP: Don’t be afraid to try layering paper and non-paper products. I sometimes find beautiful paper napkins that I pair with nicer plates. Love that Natasha paired gold chargers with the paper plates.

LOVE: How cute is this DIY skull straw flag?! Adore it.

TIP: Think out of the box when accessorizing some of your party items. I love that Natasha used twine to decorate the water bottles.

LOVE: I don’t know where she got these lanterns but I’m obsessed. I want them in my house! ;p

TIP: For simple, but inexpensive decorating items…use things like this lantern to dress up a table or as a centerpiece. Sometimes the best party decor items can be found around your own house.

Thanks so much, Natasha, for sharing your adorable Pirate Party with us! Check out Just Posh Parties for more fun ideas!
